Paris-based Aircall raises $120 million for its cloud-based voice platform, becoming France’s 16th unicorn

Cloud-based voice platform Aircall has raised a fresh $120 million Series D funding round led by Goldman Sachs Asset Management becoming the 16th French unicorn so far with a total of $226 million raised in funding to date. Existing invesotrs DTCP, eFounders, Draper Esprit, Adam Street Partners, NextWorldCap and Gaia are also participating in the round.

It was founded in 2014, Aircall is the cloud-based call center and phone system of choice for modern businesses. A voice platform that integrates seamlessly with popular productivity and helpdesk tools. Most notably it can integrate with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and Slack as well as other CRMs. Aircall was built to make phone systems easy to manage – accessible, transparent, and collaborative. And it gets better. The platform can also work well with remote and hybrid teams, taking advantage of its cloud-based software making it ideal for many existing and new companies.

We also witnessed an increasing demand for visibility and data about teams and performances,” said CEO and co-founder of Aircall Olivier Pailhes. “Now that hybrid, on-site or remote teams are likely here to stay, we’ll continue to work to achieve our vision and empower every professional to have richer conversations.”

Stuart Chapman of Draper Esprit also explained that while remote work has deeply entered in our working routine its highly necessary to enrich this experience as best as possible. “Customers demand a better and more personalised interaction with a business and Aircall is in a position to help companies achieve that.”

The company has achieved a 65% total customer growth over the past year alone, now counting some 8,500 customers worldwide, and a third of its revenue coming from the US. The firm counts over 450 employees with offices in Paris, Madrid, New York, and Sydney planning on opening new offices in London and Berlin as well.

The funding will be mainly used to further develop new integrations specifically applied to industry standards as well as further expand its workforce for its new and existing offices.
