Avi Medical has landed €28.5 million to revolutionize the way people are being treated with the combination of medicine and software
The digital healthcare startup operating in Munich Avi Medical, has raised €28.5 million in a Series A round which was led by Heal Capital and Addition. The funding is coming months after a €10 million seed round in January which brings the total amount raised by the company to €38.5 million. Existing investors Picus Capital, Vorwerk Ventures, Idinvest Partners, 3VC and Claret Capital Partners also participated in the round with angel investors joining in the round as well. The company said that will use the capital for the development of their software services and expand throughout Germany.
Founded by Christoph Baumeister, Julian Kley and Vlad Lata in 2020, Avi Medical uses data-driven medicine to provide patients and healthcare workers with a streamlined, more modern experience, delivering the best possible medical care. “Avi Medical is a pioneer in the field of primary care,” co-founder and CEO Vlad Lata said. “The vision that drives Chris, Julian and me is to provide primary care that enhances the doctor-patient contact with modern digital capabilities. Not as an end in itself, but to support patient treatment wherever possible in a meaningful way.”
Even more exciting news for the healthcare industry is Avi Medical’s introducing the new “doctor’s office concept” where patients are to be offered contemporary treatment enriched with the latest standards of medicine, booking online appointments that make the doctor’s visit easier. As if that were not enough patients will be filling out their medical history form from the screen of their smartphone eliminating long waiting rooms. Avi Medical surely is a pioneer in contemporary medicine doing everything in the highest possible standard using state of the art technology as well as being one of the few that does not differentiate between public and private insured patients.
“We strongly believe that technology can redefine healthcare and guarantee better, more cost-effective and simpler patient care. Avi Medical’s concept of timely care ultimately benefits all stakeholders: patients, physicians and insurers.” said Eckhardt Weber, General Partner at Heal Capital.
Jason Schneider of Addition, said: “Patient needs have changed during the pandemic and accelerated the digital transformation in healthcare, especially with regard to innovation. We’re excited to partner with the Avi Medical team as they work to convert patient-doctor interactions into holistic, personalized digital experiences.”
